Responsibility for the environment has not just been part of Schmersal's DNA since yesterday. It has been firmly anchored in our value system for a long time, and we have already achieved a great deal in the past to reduce the environmental impact of our production. Now, Schmersal has published its first sustainability report, in which we document the many and varied projects at our worldwide locations and disclose the most important environmental indicators of our production sites.
The report makes it clear that our value-oriented actions and our corporate philosophy are very much in line with the seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined as part of the 2030 Agenda.
“As a second and third generation family business, we think in the long term and conservatively in the original sense of the word, i.e., preserving: we have a responsibility for the environment, for our employees, for our fellow human beings and for future generations”, writes Philip Schmersal in the foreword to the report.
